Ogun: NANS Addresses OGITECH Students Woes
The Students' Union executives of the Ogun state Institute of Technology (OGITECH) Igbesa, have bemoaned the victimization of her leaders by the Management and also the unwarranted incessant insecurity on campus which is further scathing the security flesh in the citadel of learning.
In a distress call to the NANS National Deputy Senate President, Comrade Elvis Ekundina, the Union's President, Comrade Michael Soaga, emphasised that in addition to the security challenges facing the school, there were also electrical issues and more importantly, the withheld results of the Union leaders.
He maintained that due to the DSA's failure to respond to issue based reports among other things, the leadership was forced to call for a beefing up of the school's security system. It is disheartening to be met with a panel after showing concern for the overall health of the institution, the said panel charged them with treason, abuse of office, unruly behaviour, gross misconduct, and all other offences.
On hearing this, the National Deputy Senate President, Comrade Elvis, along with the chairman of the NANS JCC/Ogun axis, Kehinde Simeon, the Students' Union President of D. S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic Itori - Gabriel Francis, the Students' Union President of MAPOLY - Adelola Babatunde, and other association executives stormed the institution to confront the Management.
After meeting with Management and the Governing Council, the Union leaders were vindicated as the Management reached the following;
✓ No Students' Union leader will ever be victimised for championing a just cause.
✓ A quick review of both EED fee and security issues within the institute.
✓ Stable electricity to be served soon
✓ All Students' Union leaders result withheld will be released soon (results were withheld due to their past activities and it will be released as soon as the reports of appeal gets to the Management team)
