Senator Lere Oyewumi PhD. Visit Uniosun Provost, Inspect The Campus Infrastructure


 

The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Akogun Lere Oyewumi today paid a courtesy visit to the Provost, College Of Humanities And Culture, Osun State University, Ikire. Senator Lere Oyewumi said that the visit was to familiarize with the school management and assess the level of infrastructural challenges confronting the school and how he could use his office to assist the institution for the betterment of the students and the staff.


Giving his welcome remarks, the Provost, Uniosun, College Of Humanity And Culture, Professor Rotimi Fasan, expressed his deep gratitude for the visit. The Provost lamented ongoing Tetfund Projects have been abandoned. He highlighted the university’s rapid expansion and growth over the years back but noted that poor funding have hindered the necessary upgrades in facilities. He equally solicit for support in building more offices for staff, Lecture Theatres and erecting perimeter fence for the security prosperity of the institution.


While appreciating the efforts of the College's Provost in ensuring the University witnesses greater infrastructural development and academic growth. Senator Lere Oyewumi was worried about the condition of the infrastructural decay in the college and vowed to take swift action in addressing the problem. Senator Lere Oyewumi gave the assurance, after inspecting the lecture theater, buildings and deliberation with the management. 


Senator Lere Oyewumi however assured the Provost and Staffs that Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is also ready to reposition state owned institutions in order to produce graduates that will compete favourably with their contemporaries globally. He equally tasked the Provost to provide a detailed report of their needs, in his effort to overhaul the educational sector in the senatorial district.
