FRSC to enforce use of speed limit devices on all commercial vehicles from October 1st

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will on October 1st commence the enforcement of use of speed limiters on all commercial vehicles nationwide. Corps Marshal of FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi announced this during a meeting held at the FRSC National Headquarters Abuja yesterday August 10th with stakeholders from relevant government agencies and road transport unions in attendance.

Lagos state govt close Marine Bridge/Road in Apapa for repair work

The Lagos State Government has announced the closure of the Marine Bridge Road (Inward Ijora) preparatory to the commencement of repair works by the contractors of the Federal Ministry of Works. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transport, Dayo Mobereola, states that the emergency and immediate closure is to also allow the Federal Ministry carryout studies to determine the state of the Bridge and effect appropriate repairs.

Photos: Two arraigned for assaulting FRSC official in Lagos

Two men were arraigned today before Mrs AA Famobiwo of magistrate court 3, Surulere for assaulting an FRSC official. Nwandu Onyeka and Okechukwu Jackson were arraigned on three count charge of conspiracy, assault and obstruction. Both pleaded not guilty and were granted bail in the sum of 50k and 2 sureties each. The case was adjourned to 18 July 2016 for mention. Both accused were remanded in prison custody as they couldn't meet the bail conditions.

The Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC ) has warned that drinking habits among motorists can dramatically upturn the trends and statistics that makeup the decline recorded in road traffic crashes in the face of obvious signs of progress in road safety, despite the fast paced population growth.

Officials of Federal Road Safety Corps have cleared the wreckage of the tanker that exploded in an accident that occurred on Tuesday at the Kara-Ibafo, KM21 of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A tanker said to belong to Total Oil Nigeria Plc was heading to Oyo state when it collided with a large sized stone on the expressway and skidded off its track.
