Former President Jonathan met with Zambia's only female presidential candidate, Edith Nawakwi of Forum for Democracy and Development party yesterday August 10th. Jonathan, who is in Zambia as head of African Union's head of election observer team, said he was excited that a woman was running for presidency. He challenged other African countries to allow women run for such positions. This morning he visited various polling stations were voting is ongoing for the presidential election. Former President Jonathan who is in Zambia as Head of African Union election observation team, yesterday met with other election observers from Nigeria. He charged them to work hard so they can all make Nigeria proud. Jonathan also had talks with candidates in the Zambia general election and also visited the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to access their readiness for the general election. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has reacted to online media reports claiming that ‎he is a co-sponsor of militant group, Niger Delta Avengers. An alleged faction of the group had released a statement over the weekend claiming that himself and some other politicians like Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Raymond Dokpesi and many others were sponsors of the group.

'Jonathan failed to save for the rainy day'- President Buhari

President Buhari says despite the oil boom a few years ago, the past administration failed to save for the rainy day. According to The Nation, President Buhari said this while speaking at the opening of the 12th All Nigeria Editors’ Conference (ANEC) 2016 in Rivers state yesterday August 4th. He was represented by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan will be leading the African Union Elections Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the Zambia ahead of the country's general election scheduled to take place on October 11, 2016 . According to a press statement released on African Union's website on Monday, August 1st, the team headed by former Nigerian President would lead members of the Short Term observers from 1st to 15 August 2016 . Ebattled former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki has said he was only obeying the directive of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the disbursement of funds from his office. According to  The Nation , Dasuki, who is standing trial for the alleged misappropriation of $15bn arms procurement fund, said this to some of his associates who recently visited him in detention.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has debunked media reports that he is nursing a 2019 presidential ambition. Some online news portal yesterday reported that the former President had announced his interest to run for presidency come 2019 during a meet up in Bayelsa. However in a swift reaction, the former President's media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, denied the report saying there was no truth to it.

GEJ denies owning £15m house in the UK, demands retraction from UK Sun newspaper

Former President Jonathan has responded to a UK Sun newspaper report claiming he recently bought a 12,000 square foot house in Surrey worth a between 10-15 million pounds. The claim was made by a former editor of the paper, Kelvin MacKenzie, in his Weekly column this past Sunday. Above is how he casually wrote it... which you can find here ...

GEJ also attend UK speaking tour in Heathrow

To put to rest reports he was on exile, former President Jonathan temporarily halted his multi-city speaking tour and took some time to return to Nigeria. He is now back in the UK where he is scheduled to give a number of talks and interviews.
