Jasper Ndubuaku shared the story of how his son miraculously survived a 4400 Kv electric shock from a 3300 kv armoured cable left exposed at Cele busstop in Lagos. According to Jasper, his son was thrown into a canal after the shock. He wrote on his Facebook wall: The devil came calling. And God said no. I've been in Lagos since Monday 25th July looking after my Son Who just escaped death and is lying critically ill in a hospital in Festac town. My sons Obioha and Toby who are students of Kings college Lagos boarded an ABC bus to Owerri on Sunday the 24th of July at the Amuwo odofin park of the company.   The bus which was supposed to leave did not depart until about 9 30 am only to break down at Cele bus stop, less than 5 km away. Passengers in the vehicle testify that the motor mechanic in the bus confessed that he told the management that the bus was faulty and can not make that trip but was forced to follow the bus and effect repairs if it develops ...

An Ikea outlet in Japan is selling black hot dogs made from edible bamboo charcoal. Dubbed 'Ninja dog', it gets its black colour from the bamboo charcoal which can act as a natural detox agent and can be used to treat food or chemical poisoning. The hot dog, which is a staggering 30cm long and said to be named after a ninja's scroll was released by Ikea to celebrate the store's 10 year anniversary. See more photos after the cut.

A nursing mother, Gloria Okore and her twins, a girl and a boy, have been detained at a private hospital in Lagos seven weeks after she gave birth to them, over her inability to settle her outstanding N35,000 hospital bill. Gloria gave birth on May 10th at the Bessylva Hospital and Maternity Home situated at 60, Surulere Street, Dopemu-Agege, Lagos State, to preterm (7 months old) set of triplets but one of the triplets, a girl, died, due to lack of incubator to nurture her.

The parents of the girls had cried out after their birth, requesting for help in raising funds needed for their medication and surgical operation to separate them.
