Abubakar Shekau yesterday released an audio stating that he remains the leader of terrorist group, Boko Haram. He released the audio message hours after BBC released a report that ISIS in the latest issue of their magazine announced Abu Musab al-Barnawi as Boko Haram's new leader. Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, ISIS, has announced a new leader for its West African branch which is Boko Haram. According to BBC, the terrorist group announced this in the latest issue of their magazine. The magazine featured its first interview with Abu Musab al-Barnawi who replaces Abubakar Shekau. Recall that in January 2015, al-Barnawi appeared in a video clip where he described himself as the spokesman for Boko Haram. This was before the Nigeria-based jihadist group pledged allegiance to IS. Shekau has not made a verified appearance in any of the sects propaganda videos since August 2015.

Boko Haram terrorist affiliated to ISIS last month attacked a military base in Bosso, Niger republic. 7 soldiers were killed during the attack. Beligan anti-terror unit contacted French police to warn them about some ISIS extremists who are intending to travel from Syria to France and Belgium to carry out a series of terror attacks. According to a French official, a warning note was sent police across france on Tuesday.
