Three-time doubles champions and gold medalists, sisters Serena and Venus Williams lost an Olympic match as partners for the first time, by losing in the opening round of the Rio de Janeiro Games to Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova by 6-3, 6-4. The Williams sisters entered Sunday's match with a 15-0 career record in the Olympics, winning the gold medal in women's doubles every time they entered the event: in 2000, 2008 and 2012.

The 34-year-old tennis star who is bidding for her second Olympic gold in the singles category after triumphing at London 2012, arrived Rio with plenty of luggage. She was seen wheeling her way through the airport with her luggage in tow. It didn't take long after touchdown for her to hit the tennis court with her sister and doubles partner, Venus, 36. Tennis Champion Serena Williams finally clinched a record 22nd grand slam singles title in the Wimbledon final today. The world number one is now tied with Steffi Graf at the top of the open era women's champions list and just two short of Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 titles. Serena Williams left viewers in shock when she took to Wimbledon's Centre Court in a very revealing top. The 34 year old tennis star left little to the imagination in a tight white Nike top during her quarterfinal match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Tuesday - and it didn't go unnoticed.

Serena Williams clinched her 300th Grand Slam victory on Sunday as she defeated defending champion, Germany's Annika Beck on Sunday with a 6-3, 6-0. Williams's triple century moved the world number one above Chris Evert into sole ownership of second place in the all-time list, with only Martina Navratilova's Open era record of 306 ahead of her. Serena Williams has now won 82 matches at Wimbledon as she remains on course to equal Steffi Graf's Open era record of 22 Grand Slam titles with her seventh Wimbledon crown.
