Comrade Clinton disagrees with Governor Aregbesola over privatization of Public Schools - Says act is barbaric . The Coordinator of Freedom Youth Frontier Ilesha East, Comrade Alapa Oladapo has berated the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola over plans to privatise the public schools in Osun State.
"He said the move is not only retrogressive, anti-people but barbaric. . Comrade Clinton was reacting to a recent advertisement by the state government calling on interested individuals, groups and communities for the take over of public schools in Osun. . He said it is unacceptable for government to release the schools, if according to official record, a mega school is constructed with a huge amount of 310 million, in addition to procuring13 billion Naira in the construction of mega schools across the State. . Comrade Clinton warned that as the organised labour in the educational sector in Oyo State recently kicked against the privatisation of public education, the people of Osun shall also resist the move. He urged those in authorities to emulate the founding fathers in Nigeria politics. "The set of people who are attempting to wear Awolowo glasses do not have his vision, they attempt to wear his cap, but do not have his brain. They attempt to wear his shoes but do not walk in his ways. Awolowo introduced free education, not this kind of fraudulent policy."Alapa Oladapo who happens to be the former Student Union Government Vice President, Osun state Polytechnic Iree further explain"said education is the right of every Child and not a privilege." . "Article 6 of the 1984 Universal Declarations of Human Right, everyone has the right to education . "Many Nigerians had struggled to acquired education to the highest level even before the formal imposition of colonial rule," he said. . Comrade Clinton however commended the actions of the organised labour in Oyo State over the attempted privatisation of public schools. He thereby charged the Osun Labour Leaders to shun the habit of keeping mute in the face of injustice.
