The Federal Government has commended Osun State for being the only state with an ongoing school feeding programme out of the 36 states of the Federation. The Senior Special Assistant to Mr President, Dr Yetunde Adeniji told Governor Adeleke that the commitment of Osun State to the school feeding programme elated all stakeholders, calling it a rare show of love for the growth and development of the young ones. NANS JCC OSUN STATE CONDEMNS EXTORTION OF STUDENTS BY HOUSE AGENTS — CALLS FOR GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION
The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Joint Campus Council (JCC), Osun State, under the leadership of Comrade Solomon Ayobami Abel, strongly condemns the continuous exploitation of students by house agents across the state. It is disheartening to witness a society where students, who were once respected and supported at every level of education, are now being exploited by those who once benefited freely from the system. It is unacceptable that these same individuals now engage in exploitative practices, especially targeting young students trying to secure accommodation. We have encountered numerous cases where a single apartment is deceitfully allocated to multiple tenants. We have also received reports of students being harassed and threatened by agents and landlords, even after making full payment for rent and associated fees.
