Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola's Leadership Stance: He's not a coward, a call for respect.
In recent discussions regarding the political climates in Osun State, the recurring notion that Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola should humble himself and seek favor from former Governor of Lagos State, now President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has raised eyebrows and invoked significant debate among Osun stakeholders and the electorate.
Aregbesola, with an impressive tenure as a two-term governor of our dear state, has demonstrated that true leadership is not measured by subservience or desperation. Pushing him to 'go and beg' President Bola Ahmed Tinubu undermines his achievements and the sacrifices he has made for the people of Osun. This rhetoric not only discredits Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola but diminishes the dignity of the values that our state stands for, "Living Spring State"
The question remains: Is Ogbeni Aregbesola motivated by hunger for sustenance or by a drive for impactful governance, Which Imole stands for? As Osun citizens, we should know that our leaders should prioritize service over the allure of power, and desperation should never dictate our political landscape.
It is obviously clear that former Governor Oyetola and those accidental public servants claiming to be politicians around him are averse to relinquishing leadership to Aregbesola in the APC. As Osun indigenes, we must reflect on whether the Ileri Oluwa group in the APC are truly ready to embrace Ogbeni as their leader and merge the group with that of Omoluabi. The people of Osun deserve leaders who will stand resolute in the face of adversity, someone whose head will never turn into a tail—a leader who embodies strength, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to progress
Osun men and women have long prided themselves on their resilience and determination. Aregbesola is not lazy; he's not a coward. He is a fighter who will never beg for food or power. As we move forward, let us focus on unity, respect, and the shared vision of a prosperous Osun under the performing governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke.
Together, we must uphold a political discourse that honors our leaders and encourages a respectful exchange of ideas, emphasizing collaboration over contention as I will be glad to welcome a man who will never wish Osun badluck and his team of supporters into this imole Matra.
Apesin Abiodun Adegoke,
Modakeke,
Osun State.
