NAOSS MEET COMMISSIONER FOR EDUCATION, DISCUSS BURSARY, STUDENT EMPOWERMENT AND EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS) National Executive convened a highly productive meeting with the Osun State Commissioner of Education to strengthen partnerships aimed at enhancing the educational and developmental opportunities for students across the state.

During the meeting, the NAOSS representatives expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Commissioner for his exceptional performance and delivery. The Commissioner’s swift intervention in addressing the FEC Iwo issues, along with his unwavering support for the association since assuming office, was commended by the delegation.

Key discussion points included:

- *Bursary Expansion:* The association raised concerns regarding the current bursary scheme. The Commissioner assured that proactive measures are underway to disburse bursaries promptly, with plans to expand the program beyond the initial allocation of 100 students per Local Government Area. This commitment is expected to enhance access to educational financial support for a larger segment of the student population.

- *Student Empowerment Initiatives:* In a bid to promote vocational, digital, and agricultural skills among students, the meeting explored collaborative strategies. The Commissioner reiterated the Ministry of Education’s readiness to partner with NAOSS in designing and implementing empowerment programs that will equip students with market-relevant skills and foster economic growth.
