The Ahmed Makarfi led caretaker committee of PDP has called on the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, to immediately arrest the former Chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff. A statement signed by the committee's spokesperson, Dayo Adeyeye, says the party is shocked at the flagrant disobedience of court orders sacking him from office. The statement in part reads

The drama continues. Yesterday, a youth group named, PDP Youth Rescue Group drove all occupants out of the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja after a prolonged protest calling for the sack of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and shut it down (Read here ). Well, another Youth group with loyalties to the embattled PDP National Chairman, later stormed the Secretariat, destroyed the padlock and entered the premises in full view of the police stationed nearby. The All Progressives Congress (APC) says the main opposition party PDP is suffering from its past sins hence the chaos and division that has rocked the party in recent times. Reacting to claims made by PDP yesterday that the APC was using its factional leader, Alimodu Sheriff to create chaos in their party, the APC in a statement signed by one of its chieftains, Mai Mala Buni said the PDP was only suffering from all the sins it had committed during their stay in power.

INTRODUCTION The best thing that can happen to our great party is the peaceful resolution of all crises within the Party and uniting all factions to pose a more united and formidable opposition. It is for this reason that I am not against any decision reached by the leaders and elders of our great party, including the Board of Trustees, on the party leadership crisis. But such decisions must be decent, reasonable and justifiable and not condone or endorse impunity. I love, appreciate and value our party, elders and leaders but cannot endorse injustice.
