Prison authority debunk reports of MEND leader, Charles Okah, escaping from Kuje prison

The Nigerian Prison Service have debunked online media reports that leader of MEND  militant group and the suspected mastermind of the 2010 Independence day bomb blast that killed over 27 people in Abuja, Charles Okah, had escaped from Kuje prison in Abuja where he was being held. Sahara Reporters this morning reported that Charles Okah and one other prison inmate had escaped by scaling the fence of Kuje Prison.However the spokesperson for the Nigerian Prisons Service, Francis Enobore in an interview with Premiumtimes this afternoon, debunked the report. He said Charles Okah was still in prison custody.
“It is not true (that he escaped). He is there (Kuje prison) hale and hearty. The comptroller of prisons in charge of the FCT was there less than 30 minutes ago and he saw him there. I spoke to the controller. Yes there was an incident yesterday, but Henry Okah was not involved. The Comptroller of prisons has ordered an investigation and that is going on. We want to know if anybody escaped and if yes, what are their identities.”he said

41 Nigerians deported from the US today

41 Nigerian men were deported from the United States for drug, police and immigration related offences today June 22nd. The deportees landed Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos at about 12pm on a chartered aircraft operated by Miami Air International. Nine of them were deported on drug related offences, 26 for police offences while six had immigration related problems.

Averted Plane Crash: Aircraft Engines May Have Been Tampered with - Governor Adeleke's Aide

  Spokesperson to the Osun State Governor , Mallam Olawale Rasheed has confirmed reported aircraft incident involving Governor Ademola Adeleke but clarified that there are strong indications that the two aircraft  engines were tampered before boarding. Reacting to news reports on the incident, the Spokesperson said the highly technically equipped aircraft was well maintained with the best technical crew and was never an unused platform where  birds could build nests. Contrary to the claim by the hanger owner that  birds' nests caused the incident, birds' nests are made with straws not bidding wires as in this case.  According to him, the near fatal incident was averted shortly after boarding and less than two minutes after commencement of taxing on the tarmac.  An early warning noise from the engines immediately prompted the pilots to direct evacuation of the passengers.
