I’VE NOTHING AGAINST SENATOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE - ADAGUNODO
My attention has been drawn to a purported law suit misapprehended to be a move against the swearing in of PDP regime in Osun State on November 27th, 2022 and the success of Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke. I therefore consider it necessary to make certain clarifications on the mischievous and heinous allegations against me and my person in connection with the subject matter. Against the backdrop of my illegal removal from office as PDP chairman in Osun State and malicious claims against me, I was compelled to seek a redress in court and the issue is yet to be completely phased since the peddlers of the statements and allegations have refused to retract them and back off. Therefore, the reading public should note that:
(1) The case has been in court since October, 2020 after all efforts to defend myself on spurious malevolent allegations of maladministration, malfeasance and anti-party activities which were levelled against me by some devilish elements within the party proved abortive.
(2) Having explored all internal mechanisms of the party to reverse my illegal removal from office by approaching all the highest organs of the party (NWC, NEC, BoT, National caucus and Governors' forum) and my detractors were hell bent and remained adamant, I had to approach the court as enshrined by the constitution of the party.
(3). Unfortunately this same set of evil minded people ensured that amicable settlements and solutions to the issue failed even while in the court.
(4). Rather than arguing their case and work on a truce, these people again approached the Court of Appeal, Akure, even when the lower court had not given any verdict and they pursued the case up to the Supreme Court where they were referred to the lower court for a judgement before approaching the Appeal Court at all.
(5) As later directed by the party, it will interest you to know that I have since withdrawn all the cases I instituted from high court up to the Supreme courts in an effort to make peace but they later went back to all these courts. What is yet to be determined and is still on is the suit I instituted since October, 2020 to have my names cleared and defend myself against their defamatory allegations and allegations of maladministration, malfeasance and anti-party activities.
(6). It should be noted that the renewed hostility and misrepresentation of the true picture of the event is on account of their aim to remove me as the National Vice Chairman of PDP, South West which, relying on a letter purportedly written by the immediate past National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus wherein he said all the allegations against me have been validated without investigation or disciplinary actions as stipulated in the constitution our great party. Meanwhile, as a matter of fact, the constitution does not allow them at their level to discipline or punish a NEC member but they still chose to continue in the illegality, even till today.
(7). In the light of the above, I believe I am under obligation to prove to the world that am innocent and have no link with their spurious claims. Hence, the court process which is my response to their endless pursuits of my political downfall and character assignation which cannot be ignored by me in as much as they have refused to put an end to their mischiefs.
(8) In clear terms, I am in court in response to their various affidavits, counter affidavits, applications and other preliminary objections regarding the spurious and malevolent allegations of maladministration, malfeasance and anti-party activities leveled against me and this has nothing to do with the victory of Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke as the Governor-Elect of Osun State and it has no effect whatsoever on his November 27, 2022 swearing-in activities.
(9). I also make bold to say that those who are spreading unfounded rumours are only doing so to cash out and appeal to the Governor-Elect.
(10). I want to appeal to the reading public that they should advise the blackmailers to be focused on the swearing-in ceremony of Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke and that they should concentrate on giving the incoming governor productive advice that will make his administration successful rather than engaging in sycophancy and eye-service which is capable of creating unnecessary enemies and enmity for the governor in the state.
(11) I wish the incoming Governor a successful tenure of office. God bless PDP. God Bless Osun State.
Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo,
National Vice Chairman,
Peoples Democratic Party,
South West.
