Farewell Message from the Youth of Itagunmodi under the aegis of Itagunmodi Frontier to the People of Ijeshaland


 

With heavy hearts and profound respect, the Youth of Itagunmodi under the umbrella of Itagunmodi Frontier express our deepest condolences to the great people of Ijeshaland over the passing of our revered monarch, Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr) Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, CFR, LL.D; the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijeshaland.


For 42 years, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II led Ijeshaland with wisdom, grace, and a profound commitment to the development and unity of his people. His monumental reign was characterized by peace, progress, and the relentless pursuit of the collective good of the Ijesha people. His Majesty's deep cultural wisdom and visionary leadership left an indelible mark on our hearts and will forever be cherished in our memories.


The Ijesha kingdom flourished under his guidance. His legacy will continue to inspire generations, reminding us of the values of unity, courage, and dedication to the land and its people. His remarkable contributions to the socio-cultural, educational, and economic landscape of Ijeshaland are testaments to his enduring vision.


As we bid farewell to our beloved king, we celebrate his life, his reign, and his eternal journey to join the ancestors. His name will forever be etched in the sands of time, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of the Ijesha people.


May Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II continue to rest in peace, Osupa Ileki amororo legbe.

Photos: Flood overtakes some areas in Lagos state

Due to heavy downpour of rain over the weekend in Lagos, some areas of the state were affected. Several Streets in Oworoshoki, Ifako, Ikorodudu, Lekki axis were seriously affected and properties/items worth millions of naira were also damaged, but no life was loss or collapse of any building. According to the General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, the flood was also exerbitated by blockages of some of the major drainage systems in the affected areas.
