Osun Student Body Advocates for Peace Ahead of Local Government Polls

*Encouragement for Peaceful Participation in the Osun State Local Government Election*

Dear Esteemed Students, 

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC Osun Axis acknowledges the importance of civic engagement and the role students play in strengthening democracy. As Osun State prepares for the local government election scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, we encourage all eligible students to actively participate in the process by exercising their voting rights. 

Your participation is not only a fundamental democratic duty but also a powerful way to shape the future of your local communities. However, while we encourage students to perform their civic responsibility, we strongly advise against any form of violence, misconduct, or unlawful activity before, during, or after the election. 

We urge all students to: 

1. Vote peacefully and responsibly. Ensure that your actions promote unity and orderliness at polling units. 
2. Avoid electoral violence and political thuggery. Do not allow yourself to be used as an agent of unrest. 
3. Respect electoral officials and security personnel. Cooperate with authorities to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process. 
4. Be vigilant and report suspicious activities. Your safety is a priority, and any sign of disruption should be reported to the appropriate security agencies. 
5. Stay away from post-election conflicts. Once you have cast your vote, disengage from any form of political altercation. 

As leaders of tomorrow, we must demonstrate that students are agents of peace, development, and positive change in society. Let us set an example by upholding integrity, discipline, and responsibility during this election. 

The NANS JCC Osun leadership will be closely monitoring the electoral process to ensure that student interests are protected and that the elections remain free, fair, and peaceful. 

Together, let us make Osun State a beacon of democratic excellence and youth participation.

Ogun: NANS Addresses OGITECH Students Woes

The Students' Union executives of the Ogun state Institute of Technology (OGITECH)  Igbesa, have bemoaned the victimization of her leaders by the Management and also the unwarranted incessant insecurity on campus which is further scathing the security flesh in the citadel of learning. In a distress call to the NANS National Deputy Senate President, Comrade Elvis Ekundina, the Union's President, Comrade Michael Soaga, emphasised that in addition to the security challenges facing the school, there were also electrical issues and more importantly, the withheld results of the Union leaders.
