Oriade Local Government Residents Protest Against Wole Oke, Rally for Olajengbesi as PDP Representative Candidate for 2027


 

Residents of Oriade Local Government stormed The palace of Elegboro of Ijebu-jesha in Orí Ade Local Government to protest against attempt by Hon. Oluwole Oke who is serving the 4th term (16 years) in the Federal House of Representatives as lawmaker representing Obòkun/Oriade Federal Constituency.


The residents who carried placards with various inscriptions like ‘Oriade Lokan’, Pelumi For Rep’, Oriade Deserves Representation’ among others stormed the palace to register their protest when Governor Ademola Adeleke arrived the town to perform the distribution of cash-backed loan cheques to cooperative societies in Ìbòkun Oriade Federal Constituency.


Speaking with newsmen, Hon. Femi Awe, the leader of the group, said it is tantamount to injustice and bias against the people of Oriade Local Government for Hon. Wole Oke to be continue to use the slot of the people having being elected for four (4) terms of four years thereby spending 16 years in the green chamber


According to Hon. Awe, it is against the principle of Federal character and democratic tenets for a part of the society to continue to dominate other parts.


Supported by Honorables Femi Ejalonibu and Hon. Arowosegbe Ṣẹgun, the protesters called on The Governor and the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State to zone the ticket of the party for Obòkun/Oriade Federal Constituency to Oriade in the interest of fairness and justice.

They also called on the Governor and party leadership under the Leadership of Honourable Sunday Bisi to support the candidacy of Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi whom they described as competent and loyal party man


According to Hon. Femi Awe, “Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi has been a strong support pillar upon which PDP members in Oriade Local Government rely”.


We just want to let the Governor that enough is enough for Hon. Oluwole Oke. Thean that we want to use for the next Rep is Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi. He is one our sons. He is popular among women, Youths, students and market women and men among others”.

The spokesman of the group added “In fact, Everybody is calling for Olajengbesi as you can see them protesting”.
