Easter: Senator-Elect Akogun Lere Oyewumi Felicitates With Christians; Urges Prayers For Leaders, Nation


 

Senator-Elect, Osun West Senatorial District, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, has felicitated with Christians in Osun West, Osun State, and the world over on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration, urging them to use the period to pray for the newly elected leaders from the just concluded elections, and the peace, progress, and healing of the nation going forward.


In a goodwill message, Akogun Lere Oyewumi said the Easter period provides an opportunity for strengthening the unity of purpose, reinforcement of the bond of brotherhood, and dedication in service to God and humanity as exemplified by Jesus Christ. 


He said, “Easter symbolizes love, sacrifice, service to God and country as well as a triumph of good over evil. We should always reflect on the lessons and significance of the season and demonstrate the same in our lives. 


"On this occasion of Easter feast, I want to enjoin my Christian brothers and sisters in Osun West Senatorial District, Osun State, and the world over to continue to demonstrate love, promote peace and show good neighborliness. 


“I also want to urge you to remain steadfast in prayers and continue to sacrifice for the good and advancement of our dear nation.”


Akogun Lere equally, urged all Christians to pray for the newly elected leaders at all levels for God to bless them with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge as they prepare to take the mantle of leadership next month.  


“We are indeed in need of prayers as leaders and as a country, especially at this crucial moment.  I am optimistic that with collective commitment, sacrifice, and by turning to God through prayers we shall overcome all our challenges and emerge stronger,” the Senator-Elect said. 


While wishing the Christian faithful a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, the Senator-Elect urged Christian clerics to use the occasion to preach peace, tolerance, and unity amongst the diverse people.

Akogun Kamorudeen Lere Oyewumi Storms Fourty-One Days Fidau Prayer for Late Sen. Isiaka Adeleke

'‘Our Lord ! Forgive us and our brethren who came before us in faith.'’Q 59:10. Akogun lere Oyewumi and PDP chieftains converged at Ikire Central Mosque, Ikire for the fourty-one day Fidau prayers for the late Alhaji Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. The prayers held witnessed a large turnout of People Democratic Party members across Irewole local government chapter who were gorgeously dressed in an attire branded with the Sen. Adeleke's picture. The fourty-one day Fidau prayer is for the repose of the soul of the deceased. Some of the eminent citizens and politicians who graced the prayer organised by the Adeleke family included; PDP chairman, Alh. Ogundele Bashir, Former Chief of Staff, Chief Festus Adeyemo,Hon.
