Senator Lere Oyewumi Celebrates Guinness World Record Holder for Marathon Reading


 

The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, PhD, recently welcomed Samson Ajao, a 27-year-old from Iwo Local Government, Osun State, Nigeria, who has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon reading aloud. Ajao’s incredible achievement saw him reading continuously for 215 hours—just one hour shy of nine full days—surpassing the previous record of 124 hours set in 2022 by Rysbai Isakov.

During the reception, Sen. Oyewumi expressed his gratitude to God for this significant accomplishment, emphasizing how proud he is that such a prestigious award has been brought to his senatorial district through the remarkable talents of a young individual like Ajao. The senator highlighted that Ajao's success is a testament to the diverse abilities and potential within the youth of his senatorial district.

Sen. Oyewumi praised Ajao’s dedication and perseverance, noting that his achievement not only brings honor to Iwo Local Government and Osun State but also serves as an inspiration to the youth across Nigeria.
